The Trakehner in Dressage

Kira K by EH Banditentraum out of E St Kanessa by Schwalbenherbst. Kira K was one of the few super talents the dressage world sees once in a while. Sensitive, eager to please, drop dead beautiful and with world-class movement that was light as a feather, this exceptional mare was first trained by Ingrid Klimke, who took her to Prix St Georg success by careful training not only the body, but especially the mind of this mare. Ingrid and Kira K brouht tears to spectators' eyes, literally. The mare was later moved into training with Nicole Uphoff, who equally successfully took her to Inter I in just 8 weeks. Sadly, the great talent ended up as a brood mare in a field, much to the disappointmend of many. Hopefully, she will prove to be just as exceptional as a mother as she was as a dressage horse! Kronjuwel by Matador out of Kordia by Mazagran. The black stallion Kronjuwel was sold to Canada after his approval in Neumünster. Under the saddle of Ashely Munroe, he returned from the Pan Am Games with individual silver and team gold medals. In the mid-90s, Kronjuwel was sold back to Germany, where he was successfully shown by Brigitte Popp for owner Dr. Baumhögger. Today, the stallion is retired at stud.

EH Van Deyk by Patricius xx out of Vanessa by Ibikus. The elite stallion Van Deyk was a very consistent Grand Prix dressage horse with many wins and placings at this level in Germany. Retired in 2000, he is now a full time breeding stallion for his owners, the Schneider family. Van Deyk has been a top dressage producer for a long time now and it is expected that more talented horses will follow in the next years. His approved son Polarion is already winning at FEI level and is now a rising star for his new British owners, the Bechtholdsheim family. And Van Deyk's sons Kaiserkult TSF and Kaiserdom TSF won the Bundeschampionat in two consecutive years, 2004 and 2005, a feat no other sire could ever claim!

Solero TSF by EH Hyllos out of Siri Arabella by Polargeist. Solero was a premium stallion at his approval and soon showed great talent for dressage. Under German rider Anja Plöntzke, this big bay stallion is currently a leading dressage horse in Germany, now having been qualified for the second time in a row for the biggest national young horse dressage test, the Nürnberg Burgpokal. In his first Grand Prix season in 2003, Solero placed and won in over 19 international competitions. In 2005, he became 3rd at the German Dressage Championships, and won the Grand Prix Freestyle at the prestigious CHIO in Aachen. His peak of the season also includes the win at the World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix Freestyle in Frankfurt.

Lions-Club by Ferrum out of Pr St Laika by Matador. Approved in Neumünster, this superior mover was exclusively trained in dressage and never saw a 100 day test, which lead to a removal of his liscence. During his performance career, he won dressage competitions up to Inter I and is showing Grand Prix now, which also got him approved again, and led to quite some interest in him from breeders, who not only value his great movement and diposition, but also the fact that he carries some rare bloodlines. Lions-Club was trained and is showed by his amateur rider Karin Leissing. Photo by Jutta Bauernschmitt.
