Sire Connery was approved in 2000, qualified for the Bundeschampionat twice and has been doing well as a dressage horse on his way to the FEI levels. His first crop appeared in Neumünster in 2004 and his first son, Aquarius, was approved. Connery's sire Buddenbrock, approved in 1996, was an event horse prior to his breeding career and comes from the ultimate line of event horses: the Habicht line. Buddenbrock's dam, the elite mare Ballerina, is a daughter of EH Benz' dam Blinklicht, which again gives us a pedigree that is based on line breeding of dam lines. Ballerina also produced the mare Batida, dam of the 2004 crowd favorite Blitz und Donner (by EH Lehndorffs), the premiumk mare Biskaya (by EH Sixtus), dam of the premium Baracuda (by EH Friedensfürst) and the National Champion mare Bandera (by EH Friedensfürst), who also placed 4th at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. Connery's dam Caro-Dame II is one of the few daughters of the very good Karo As in the breed, the only approved son of the excellent sport horse sire Vollkorn xx in Oldenburg. Caro-Dame II is a daughter of the late elite mare Cornau, who not only left the breed several highly ranked daughters, but most importantly, the elite stallion and major sire Consul. Other daughters of her include the Grand Prix winner Corna, dam of the premium stallion Checkpoint, or Cornu, dam of the approved Cornus. The dam Isar is a successful in hand show mare and was sired by the good riding horse producer Balfour xx, who brings in very old, highly regarded German TB lines. From the same breeders (the Keunicke family), several FEI dressage horses have successfully represented this line (Istia, Itax, Radom) and the recently 70 tested young approved Interconti was bred by Keunickes as well. The family also produced the approved eventer Inster Graditz (by Bonito xx) and the 1994 Bundeschampion Induc (by EH Marduc). |
