Inspection scores: 8,8,7/8.5,9,8/9 Central Mare Inspection in Holstein 2005 Sire Kostolany is one of the breed's most influential stallions, in all terms of producing good sons, good brood mares and riding horses that excel at FEI levels in dressage and show jumping. Kostolany was the champion of his approval in Neumünster, passed a good 100 day test, and won FEI dressage under Otto Langels. He was a popular stallion from the early days on and has sired over 150 main stud book mares in Germany alone. Among them e.g. the National Champion mare of 1995, Carara. His sons have put his line on an even bigger basis, and stallions like EH Gribaldi, an international Grand Prix winner, are excellent promotion for the big black Kostolany of Hämelschenburg Farm. He is one of only two European approved sons of the ATA's late Enrico Caruso (the other is the British owned Trocadero). In North America, several Enrico Caruso sons stand at stud and do well in competition, e.g. Kovington, Incantare or Tanzeln. Kostolany's dam line is that of Kassette, tracing back to the main stud Trakehnen. The line has spit up into several branches, and has produced such famous stallions as Karon, Kassiber, Kaspareit (ATA), K2, Key West or Kassius. Dam sire Falke by Grimsel was exported to North America after his career at stud in Hämelschenburg. His approved sons Egmont and Eisenerz were successful dressage horses and his dam Fawiza also produced the international Grand Prix winner and later, approved stallion Fabian (R. Klimke). The dam Venetia III is a daughter of the former champion stallion Guter Stern, who is a maternal half brother to the great performance horse producer Guter Stern and the top mares Gute Sitte, Gute Welt and Gute Reise. Venetia III is also dam of the former elite auction mare Vision, who is an advanced level show jumper now. The second dam Valeria II is also dam of the CCI**** eventer Vilano, who represented Germany at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. The mare family has further produced such outstanding stallions as EH Van Deyk, Velasquez, Valerian and Vincent. Inbreeding chart: Inbreeding here is concentrated on Mahagoni and Ibikus. |
