Mare family of O119A1 Bergsicht (Carl-Gut Ludwigsburg)

The sire

Key West is a full brother to K2, who was the undisputed champion stallion in Neumünster in 2001. K2 won and placed upü to Inter I in dressage in 2007, while sadly, Key West passed away this year. Like K2, Key West was not only a very good mover, but also jumped well and has been shown in open jumper classes, qualifying for the Bundeschampionat. He combines two impeccable mares in his pedigree: the National champions Schwalbenburg (dam of 4 approved stallions) and Kalinka. A combination of the Schwalbe and Kassette lines in one stallion. Sire Stradivari had been promoted as a show jumper with excellent results and even though stationed at a remonte spot in the South of Germany, had gotten a name for producing excellent performance horses, both in eventing and show jumping at National level. Upan la Jarthe AA was, for many years, one of the leading jumper sires in the Westfalian breed and also sired the approved Trakehner and FEI dressage stallion Kadre Noir (dam by Ibikus, also from the Kassette line).

The dam

Baccara was named State Champion Mare at the State Mare Show in Baden-Württemberg in early September 2005. She was a successful event horse prior to her breeding career and this particular branch of the family has produced the following eventer that competed at least at intermediate: Kentucky Basil, Balzac, Begelly, Birke and Barracuda. The dam sire Eichendorff is somewhat of an unknown name, but comes from very valuable breeding: Patron, sire e.g. of EH Macksensen, has an impeccable record in the breed, and Padparadscha (by Hartung) was a very good performance horse sire. His daughter Syone produced the 100 day test winner and proven performance sire Sir Chamberlain. The second dam Babuschka is a daughter of the most important Arabian stallion in the breed in the 80s and early 90s: Bajar ShA. This grey stallion has one of the most outstanding show jumper and eventer production records in the breed. His offspring competed internationally, and his daughters can be considered real treasures. The line further continues with Donauwind and has its origin with the mare Bergfriede, who produced one of the strongest show jumper families in the breed. A prominent example is the approved Best Before Midnight.
