The sire
Buddenbrock will be named "Elite stallion" in Neumünster in 2007. He was an event horse prior to his breeding career and comes from the ultimate line of event horses: the Habicht line. Buddenbrock offspring have since then appeared at a number of National events, e.g. the Bundeschampionat, in both dressage and eventing. On top of that, he produced several approved sons, e.g. the 2000 champion King Arthur TSF, the dressage stallion Connery, the full brothers In Petto and In Flagranti (champion in 2003), Epernay, Ippon or Inamorato (ATA). Buddenbrock's dam, the elite mare Ballerina, is a daughter of the elite mare Blinklicht, whose approved son EH Benz is not only an accomplished Grand Prix dressage stallion, but who also has one of the breed's highest overall conformation and movement index scores (based on his daughters at their inspection). Ballerina also produced the mare Batida, dam of the 2004 crowd favorite Blitz und Donner (by EH Lehndorffs), the premium mare Biskaya (by EH Sixtus), dam of the premium Baracuda (by EH Friedensfürst) and the National Champion mare Bandera (by EH Friedensfürst), who also placed 4th at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. Dam sire Diamant stood in Austria and sired several highly recognized dressage horses for the upper levels. His sire Erzsand also had quite an influence on the ATA breed. The big Blinklicht family is known mostly for great, athletic sport horses, and apart from Buddenbrock and Benz, also the younger Bellheim (by Saint Cloud) comes from this line.
The dam
The dam Seeconda is a full sister to the dam of the exceptional young stallion Canzler, approved in NMS in 2005. She is a daughter of the influential major sire EH Consul, who had several important approved sons (e.g. EH Rockefeller, Guter Planet, Seigneur (ATA), Enchantee, etc) and also produced over 100 registered main stud book mares for the Trakehner Verband alone. He also sired many outstanding sport horses for all disciplines, e.g. Vilano, CCI**** eventer for Germany at the World Games in Jerez de la Frontera. Consul's dam Cornau, now elite mare, also produced the international Grand Prix mare Corna (who in turn produced the premium stallion Checkpoint), the mare Cornu (dam of Cornus) and Caro Dame (dam of Connery). The Corry line traces back to the big Corrida family from Trakehnen, a line that also produced the top internatinal show jumper Almox Prints J. The combination of Buddenbrock with an EH Consul daughter has also produced King Arthur TSF. The second dam sire Seeadler by Habicht was champion of his approval and can be found in a number of performance horse pedigrees, e.g. as dam sire to the approved Königsmarck and the international Grand Prix dressage mare Renaissance Fleur TSF. The mare line of Cresta Star xx is a pinto line in the breed and is also the family of Cosmopolit, Camaro and the 2005 elite auction mare PS Co Co Chanell.
