The Trakehner Influence in Northrhine-Westfalia
Show jumping in Westfalia - Trakehner roots
Trakehner influence can be seen in several Warendorf state stallions who have produced a number of excellent offspring. Again, an Oxyd daughter crossed with Ramzes AA produced some outstanding horses. The mare was Admiralität, who produced Adria, dam of Perseus (by Pluchino xx). This P-line represents exceptional jumping potential. Polydor and Pilot are Perseus grandsons (through their sire Pilatus), both stallions became show jumping "Millionaires", and their get won over $3 Million in international jumping competitions. Of the two, Pilot showed more refinement perhaps because his dam Gratia (out of Kornelia by Keith, the last living Pythagoras-son in Germany) carried even more Trakehner blood.

International winners from the P-line, include Bugatti Pedro, Padua, Pialotta, Pamina, Prestige Pilot, Pro Pilot, Priamos, and many more. Equally important, Polydor and Pilot sired over 50 approved sons like Pluspunkt, Pit I, Polytraum, Potsdam, and Pinocchio, stallions that have influence on modern jumping and are used in almost all German warmblood registries all over the globe. And even more noteworthy, especially Pilot seemed to pass on huge movement, which makes him appear in several dressage horse pedigrees as well. A true all-arounder, this stallion had to be put down in 1991, barely 17 years old, after he had been walking around with a partially fractured hip for some time. |

Trakehnen's last original Trakehner stallion, the chestnut Keith (by Pythagoras) was the maternal grand sire of Goldlack, a leading jumper producer in Westfalia. Goldlack was best-represented by his daughter Goldika, an international winner. Another representative of this line is Goldrausch II by Gottschalk (who goes back to more Oxyd blood in his maternal line), who produced the impressive show jumper mare Gazelle.
