Oberon SR

Oberon SR has an outstanding, unflappable disposition and shows great promise in dressage with his wonderful work ethic and willingness. He has three very good basic gaits and a great feel for rhythm and balance, also under saddle. Oberon was very successful at his first show in Wellington in late July 2012, scoring in the high 60s and mid 70s. He qualified for the Regional Championships and his training has continued very well. oberon SR is very easy to handle and work with, just like his outstanding bloodlines suggest. This is a formidable dressage talent in the making!

Performance record:

About the sire:
Sire Kostolany is one of the breed's most popular stallions, and has been high in demand ever since he was the champion in Neumünster. In 2009, the Trakehner Verband awarded him the title "Stallion of the Year", also in light of the earth shattering success his grand son Moorland's Totilas has had at the European Championships in Windsor. Kostolany has many approved sons, such as the international Grand Prix dressage winner EH Gribaldi, Tolstoi, the international Grand Prix winner Showmaster, the excellent show jumper sire Sans Souci, or Silvermoon, sire of E.H. Cadeau and the 2006 WEG shooting star Matine. He is also known as a producer of very versatile performance horses, be it in dressage (e.g. Shannon TSF), show jumping (e.g. Pretty Woman) or eventing (e.g. Bertone). Kostolany's sire Enrico Caruso *Ps*E* left a huge mark on the American Trakehner breed. Enrico Caruso's many North American approved sons include the PSG competitor Kovington, the premium Tanzeln, and the intermediate eventers Incantare and Pavarotti. In Europe, he is also sire of the UK-based Neumünster reserve champion Trocadero and the German-approved, US-bred Lord Luciano, who has a most promising dressage career under Terhi Stegars. Kostolany's dam line, which traces back to the half Arabian Kassette, is one of the biggest and most dominant of the entire breed.

About the dam:
Dam Onia has only been shown once in her life and ended up the Grand Champion (all breeds) of the prestigious Sporthorse breeders show - Montreal-Blainville. She is also a ¾ sibling to the stallion Onassis *E*.
Dam sire E.H. Consul can be named as one of the most influential and important sires in the Trakehner breed after WWII. Consul had a large number of approved sons, the most successful being E.H. Rockefeller, Enchantee, Guter Planet, Onassis *E* and Interconti. Obviously, Consul can now also be found in multiple generations down the line, since many of his sons in turn have produced daughters that influence the breed. One example stands out: Guter Planet’s daughter Habsburg II is dam of the 2001 Reserve Champion E.H. Hofrat, a stallion who is of equal importance for the Trakehner and Hanoverian breeds. His Hanoverian son Hotline, the Champion stallion in Verden, was sold at auction for 800,000 Euro and competes at FEI dressage, while Hofrat also produced the Trakehner Champin Häwelmann and a number of excellent dressage horses. Hofrat himself is now competing at Grand Prix dressage internationally.
In addition, Consul has to be named as one of the most popular and important Trakehners in the Hanoverian breed in the past 15 years. He sired a number of excellent brood mares, such as Consulin, who in combination with Donnerhall produced the approved Don Vino, and Cleopatra, again in combination with Donnerhall, is dam of the Hanoverian champion stallion Don Frederico (now a FEI dressage stallion). Consul’s son Celibedache was approved in Hanover and is a winner at Grand Prix dressage. Crisp, also a Hanoverian Consul son, represented Australia at the 2004 Olympics in Athens in dressage and Consul’s Hanoverian grand son Bonaparte won Team Gold at Olympics and World Championships in dressage for Germany. The large Corrida family, of which Consul is a member, has had significant impact on the Trakehner breed worldwide. To name a few of the stallions from this line: E.H. Cadeau, Couracius, Couleur-Fürst, Caanitz, E.H Connery, Cornus, Checkpoint, E.H. Chardonnay, Coktail, and last but not least, Almox Prints J. This outstanding stallion was bred in Russia and participated at the two Olympic Games of Seoul (1988) and Barcelona (1992) in show jumping. Almox Prints J was one of the best stallions in international jumping ever, winning over a quarter million in prize money, and returning as the champion from such prestigious Grand Prix’s as Wiesbaden/GER or Rotterdam/NL.
The mare family of O69A Oka produced the brood mare Ordnung (by Schöner Abend), dam of the important stallion Ordensglanz. His sons EH Argument, Argonaut and Glanzlicht were approved for the breed. EH Argument is a very good sire of dressage and show jumper horses, his most famous offspring is the Hanoverian branded Anthony FRH, National Champion under Isabelle Werth and Team Gold medal winner at the European Championships in 1998. Glanzlicht was the approval champion in 1994 and won his first Grand Prix Dressage at age 8. Onassis’ full sister Oda II was a brood mare for the private stud of Insa and Hilmer Ruprecht in Germany. Her daughter Olga III, a State and Verband premium as well as Elite mare, produced the premium stallions Oliver Twist and Okavango. Oliver Twist sired the 2007 NMS Champion and French National Dressage Horse Champion Grand Passion and the approved Bundeschampionat qualified Singolo out of his first foal crop on the ground.
Onia’s dam sire Lucado was able to leave a number of high quality daughters. For example, his daughter, elite mare Galante V produced Grazie II, the dam of the approved Gipsy King (sire of E.H. Manrico) and Gipsy Lady, a full sister to Gipsy King. Gipsy Lady’s approved son Grafenstolz TSF won the Bundeschampionat and the FEI World Championships for Young Eventers in Lion d’Angers within one year.
